Danville Homeless Shelter Truss & Roof Repair, Danville, VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided structural engineering services to design a repair for the existing wood heavy timber truss and roof framing system. The building had been condemned due to the safety hazard of its heavy timber truss failure.
True Light Baptist Church, South Boston, VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided foundation design for the new worship facility. MLA, PLLC also determined roof and floor design loads for the structure.
Seven Oaks Baptist Church Addition, South Boston, VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided structural engineering services for the change of use for the existing rear canopy structure which involved re-analyzing and designing the existing structure to accommodate additional wind and seismic loads. MLA, PLLC also provided structural engineering services for the design of the new canopy structure added to the existing worship facility.

Bailey’s Residential Structural Repair, Halifax, VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided structural engineering services to repair a high end residential home comprised of masonry, steel beams, columns, bar joists, metal decking and concrete. Residence was constructed without an engineered design and then was required to obtain an engineer to verify integrity of constructed building. Several reinforcements and modifications were required.
Old Smith Seeds Building Structural Condition Assessment, Structural Repair & Renovation, Danville VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided a structural evaluation of an existing multi-story historic structure. We provided structural repair design and drawings as well as the structural design for the renovations to this historic structure. Building will be converted to residential and commercial space.
GCR Roof and Wall Evaluation, South Boston, VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided structural evaluation services for this existing building to determine if a cooling structure could be placed on the roof of this historic structure. Evaluation included the existing roof and supporting walls.
Progress Energy, Roxboro, NC
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided structural evaluation, engineering and CADD services for the existing power plant for a plant shut down. We evaluated one of the existing structures for a Georgia based rigging company. The existing structure was evaluated for an additional 20-ton load for rigging purposes and additional support steel was designed. Also, the existing structure was reinforced for this additional load.
Dominion Power Plant, Hurt, VA
McKinley Lewis Associates, PLLC provided structural evaluation, engineering and CADD services for this existing power plant for a plant shut down. We evaluated the existing structure for new catwalks and monorail lifting devices. We also completed the structural design for these new devices and have an ongoing relationship with the power plant. In 2012 and 2013 we designed a series of enclosure for high voltage electrical equipment.
